From Music to Motivation

 Hello Dear Reader,

Welcome to my second blog post. Here I will be discussing a different way of looking at motivation. Fair warning though, after you have read this page, you are never gonna be able to look at motivation the same way again.

So, to say a few words about motivation: when you feel that beating a pro-wrestler in hand to hand combat is very much possible for you,  you are motivated. This is how you feel after listening to a motivational song. And believe me, I have been there. It is a sudden rush of emotion which makes you feel like nothing is impossible for you to achieve. In most cases it is true, but what you need to focus on is that motivation is just a rush. It lasts for a very short duration of time.

Our lives are full of such tasks which demand a lot from us, physically and mentally. Most of the tasks which fall in the latter category are the ones which make us feel averse. We do not feel like doing them because of their complexity, but are stuck with them whether we like it or not. We keep on avoiding them until they are overdue, which finally pushes us to bite the bullet and get down to do them.

In such situations when frustration pulls us down, we turn to motivation to help us get afloat. We try to find them in works of art and abstract thoughts. But as we know, it is temporary in nature.

Hence, what I advise you to do is to listen to romantic songs instead ;D

Yeah, you read it right. You see, romantic songs generally have such lyrics which describe how beautiful, lovable and desirable a person is (PS, beauty here does not mean looks :P). They are written with such subtlety that one starts missing the girlfriend/boyfriend that one never even had!

I advise you to make use of these carefully crafted lyrics and dedicate them to the most important person of your life... yourself. Dedicate the words to yourself and even sing them to the mirror. They will help you remember that just like any other person, you are a beautiful creation of god, and a person of very strong character.

This is a simple way of how I keep smiling through the most difficult of exams and the messiest of presentations. And I fully hope that this will bring a smile on your face whenever you listen to a romantic song, apart from the obvious reason of course;)

So dear reader, our time today comes to an end. Looking forward to seeing you with my next blog.
